I miss my HD 25's - they rocked .... its a shame that the money i raised from them went towards removing a large metal clamp from the drivers side front wheel of my then broken down car Might buy a new pair soon to show off in front of all the other 'stylish' developers and designers in my office with their nathan barley esque headphones and scarves.
they are the cheaper ones, yes - there is very little change in quality out of the driver though, like Si mentioned, I think it goes more in to the comfort/isolatioin area than the technology. it all depends on your own personal mixing style what you buy some wear them all night on the top of their head, some wear them around their neck all night (mixing off the shoulder), some take them off between mixes take your hairstyle in to account when choosing! 4 hours with a band over the top of your spiked mop is not a good look the best advice though, is to go and try some out yourself - we all have a different size and shaped head so what's good for one, is not good for another if you still cant decide, look here http://www.skratchworx.com/reviews/HeadphoneGroupTest.php
I really fancy getting some inner-ear phones... thwe few times I've had to resort to using them I've found it far easier to mix. Its just a proper shit-on putting them back in yer lugs to make adjustments in the mix.
what! nonsense! They are the most durable, and parts can be individually replaced. edit: i see ive been beaten to it
hd25s for me, had em a few years now and never looked back, this pair dont look like fucking off anytime soon either!
