Technofish, Well done mate, you've just finally confirmed yourself as the biggest fucking tool on here. There's a massive difference with feeling a bit down, which everyone does at some point, to suffering from Depression. Depression is an actual illness. You can't just switch it off and on. I'm glad your so highly clinically qualified to offer such an expert diagnosis. Like Shortee states above, you don't choose to be depressed, it generates from many things, external factors, personal issues, family issues, money and how the body / mind copes with it, your coping mechanism. Everybody copes with issues differently, some cope well, some don't. I can say this because I have experienced severe mental illness in my family and it's a terrible, terrible thing. I'm so glad you are so strong minded, lets hope nothing like this ever happens to you eh... Prick
I think I know the difference between TRAUMA and depression!!! I know people who suffer or who have suffered from depression and without going in to detail, as it isn't my place to say, I promise you their depression is not trauma, it's depression!! And it's the hardest thing I have seen someone cope with, for years on their own. It's an Illness not a disease or weakness! It's a very taboo subject and people with your opinion are the reason why most won't seek help!! I really hope you or any of your lived ones ever suffer from it!!
Depression never fucking existed until the 90's!! it wasn’t recognised. My dad worked down the shipyards all his life I asked him this week how many men had depression in the yards over his 40 years, none he replied with a chuckle. Yeah I agree it’s a illness. MENTAL ILLNESS. Your normally fucking MENTAL when you kill yourself. What did the 14 year old kids working 16 hours down the pits do? What did the shipyard workers do? What did the troops in the world wars do? They mann'ed up (sorry for the americansm) and they fucking got on with it. Whats your opinions on the fact Depression didn’t exist until recently?
Life now compared to 100 years ago is loads different. Yes, there was hard manual work, but this type of work is cathartic. Nowadays people are shoved like battery hens into small humid offices and have target after target to set - there is a lot more demand on commerce, and to be honest adverts can sometimes even give me a headache. Technology is increasing rapidly, there is more stimuli to recall, more aspirations to adhere to, and a sense of expectation in life now.
Life today causes people to go mad, 100% We are meant to live in groups of around 40 ppl, living in small homesteads without things like electricity and wifi signals going through our bodys. I am a massive beleiver in this. BUT if you saying Life 100 years ago was easier you need to check yo self broski. BIG TIME. Ill allow you one "Edit" on this one cause you posted in haste
Sounds like you should live your life like an eco warrior and leave behind your empire of dvds. I'm not saying life was easier, but mentally yes - theres that much more going on these days. Plus - there was less mental illnesses to associate behaviour with so everyone would have just thought they were fine anyway.
back in the day, if you didnt work you got hungry and then died. how can life be harder now?? you can do fuck all and eat, drink and be merry in ex-great britain
also, 100 years ago, in terms of the actual 'medical profession', something like depression was probably a lot harder to diagnose
Depression is a modern term but not a modern illness. Try looking up Melancholy instead as it was historically known
Ha'way man, spill the beans! I heard one about him being gay and that one of the red tops had called him to say they were going to print it the following day, which I took as being a load of bollocks.
duncan ferguson is alledged to have had a 13 year affair withspeeds his wife and is the father to 1 of the children sorry if that offends but thats the rumours on tweeter
Well that would make more sense, and would explain why there have been no conspiracy theories thus far with every1 accepting the depression story - which has never really been justified
It is no surprise Gary Speed committed suicide: He was gay gambler with huge debts who was having a affair while suffering terminal cancer & depression whos wife was getting shagged by Big Dunc for years & one of his Speeds sons had a liking for pigeons.
iv spoke to my contact at the Mirror and no one knows about this . if they havent heard ANYTHING its bullshit
