    thats my choice.

The stories about american ambulances leaving people dead or injured on the streets are an urban myth - spend a few weeks there and see how much your money goes and the freedom and opportunities that americans have because of their tax system and see who's better eh.

    They piss all over us.

If we had the best of everything and lived in some neo tokyo esque utopia because of the tax we pay then i might be inclined to support our system. But our social services are an absolute joke and i have no support for them.

You have the choice to buy a car, and then you can choose your level of insurance.

    CHOICE.

thats where your family is supposed to come in.

No wonder we have such a breakdown in the fabric of society, so many single mothers, divorces and a breakdown of the family unit when there is no importance placed on families in the first place.

If all of those above happened to me, i would think my family who arent rich by any means - would do their best to take me in and care for me.

Let me guess... is this where you ask me what i would do if i had none of those either?

Ok put it this way people opt out of paying for NHS there the HNS could not work and be finished... What about people who cant afford private heath care and private denatl treatment?? I'm proud we have free heathcare in this country american system does not work as the poor get shafted, i dont mind paying for our less well off citizens to get the treatment they deserve and i dont mind paying ofr our pensioners either, I think your being rather selfish myself.

selfish my arse - stop coming out with such facist statements coletrickle.

If im selfish then why do i pay 600 pounds a month into this nations coffers per month - lol.

If we didnt fight so many wars, didnt support so many lazy arsed losers, and let this country be attractive to high value businesses then we wouldnt need to worry about supporting people who cant afford healthcare - there simply would be no need to worry about things like that to the extent we are now.

You've said youve travelled around a bit before eh - have you been to Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, Tokyo before? Well they have probably HALF the tax we pay (if not less) and those people have a higher standard of life and are kicking our bloody arses in terms of advancing themselves in the 21st century - didnt you see this?

Why should an amazingly advanced place like hong kong have a futuristic metro system that costs 40p a journey but still makes a profit? why are there so many people with rolex watches? Why is everyone looking like they are doing better than us and have a higher quality of life? .... maybe its because they arent living somewhere where the state does its best to make life as hard as possible for them.

Look around you for gods sake - theres nothing 'great' about britain and our health service aint 'all that' either.

In a decent state - families would support their ill grandmother. Your coming up with 'straw man' arguments (distorted views of the situation) to rationalise the entire health system. Thats madness.

Not wanting to have a state health system alike what we have is not being UN 'civilized' - once again your just attacking someone with different views than yourself as being somehow subhuman or worse than you for holding those opinions. Thats not on.

Is it not the same as in Spain, etc that if you have an accident, you have to ring for a private ambulance. They come and take you to the hospital, then you pay afterwards? The private companies would surely arrange some sort of deal with the ambulance service though

I'm totally with Brid on everything he says tbh. The amount of tax and NI I pay is fucking ridiculous! And for what? I still have to pay for any medicine I get. I'll be getting a totally shit penison, even if I do get one. This country is an absolute farce! We pay tax, then have to pay even more tax on everything we buy. If this road tax comes in, I'll probably be out of a job, and won't be able to even travel anywhere. It not even worth working anymore. People on the dole and sick are the fucking bright ones in this country.

Yes i have to been to aisa, you pick out a few of the better places but none have a life expectancy as high as ours and the poor in those countries suffer a LOT more than here as they cant afford medical treatment, and the rest of asia is very very poor so feel that is not really a good comparison,

So you would not be bothered that the poor and people who cant earn a living would then have to pay for soemthing they now get free, how is that a fasict staement??? do you even know what facism is ???

I was giving examples of similar western and eastern countries who are as rich as we are (in economic terms) - poor countries are completely irrelevant from the point i was making.

Last time i read, Japan had one of the highest - if not the highest life expectancy in the world.... and was it not in the news recently that we are turning into a nation of people who will not outlive their parents.

Dont insult my intelligence sunshine - i dont regard myself as a genius, but im sure as hell you arent one either.

Out of interest - how much tax and national insurance per month do you pay?

The same companies that spend millions and millions of pounds developing these drugs just for some indian company to knock out bootleg versions for pennies?

I dont agree with the way things are, but the companies who invent these drugs are businesses at the end of the day - they arent in business to give their products away to third world countries at a loss.

Yes the situation needs fixing as its inhumane to keep basic things from third world countries - but its government policy you need to criticise, not 'bastard medicine companies'
