in my opinion theres 2 reasons:
1 - You want to create a buzz about your night as much as you can, getting everyone involved in the DJ's booked, set times, latest mixes etc... posting a line-up too early may in some cases cause a lack of interest or boredom by the time the night actually comes round, the thread/clubbers have grew tired of talking about it which in turn makes it look like a failing night & makes it hard to estimate as to who closer to the event is actually up for it.

2 - Another simple reason in my book is so that your not left with egg on your face, if Junior:G for instance started screaming about all the great DJ's we have confirmed for the next 6 months & say 4 of these bookings fall through for any of number of reasons leading up to the dates, the clubbers may percive the night as false advertisers & loose faith within the night. this way when folk dont know if any such thing did happen we can book another DJ & not be left to look like amatures.

Another reason for this i reckon is if people knew who was on in coming months they might not bother coming to an upcoming night, thinking "Fuck it, ill go next month instead as X is on".

Say for example if i was considering coming to Baker on friday (which i would if i had the coin) i would be less inclined to go if i knew someone else that i fancied seeing is on next month.

for me that doesent really apply with jnr:G because its generally fantastic everytime, and i've never been dissapointed.

evolve however is like that, i dont go on certain nights there because in my experiance with evolve, you can either be completely dissapointed or completly impressed. its proper depressing when the dancefloor is empty in digital by the end.

Jnr is small so the atmosphere is class everytime, so no matter who's on i go for the crack, get wreked and have a good time.

same with tall tree's - thats mental everytime as well, although some of the line-ups have been a bit sketchy.

i still think that ferry corsten night at evolve was the best (when there was techno upstairs), although thats debateable!

i was about to say totally agree with you there until I seen your signature:

"I suppose we are the team that everyone is looking at because we have gone on a decent unbeaten run. When you come through the pack in the way that we have people tend to sit up and take notice. That can bring its own pressure, but I've got no worries. You are up there to be shot at but it's a challenge I think the players are up to, it's something they should enjoy. Failure does not cross my mind." El Keano.

Think Gary hit the nail on the head. Totally spoils the element of surprise.

It a bit annoying when people find out before you announce it like. But fair play, a lot of its on the internet these days and I used to snoop myself for Shindig line ups.

Graham, RS was someone I thought about a while back, but he played Shindig a few months back. We have a policy of not booking anyone who has played for Shindig in recent years bar Desyn which was kinda different.
