What do you have the comedy recorded on at the moment?

If your soundcard supports 'What U Hear' / 'Stereo Mix' you should be able to select that as an input in Audacity and hit record before playing the video. If it does you can enable it in Control Panel / Sound under the Recording tab.

    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

Otherwise, you could lift the audio directly from the files. Are they .wmv format?

Audacity works, depending on your soundcard. Stereo mix can be a ball ache to find! Failing that a 3.5mm male - male stereo cable from headphones to mic will do the job.

Audacity is spot on like. If you can't find "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear", look for "Wave" instead, it has a number of possible names depending on your type of soundcard.

You need to make sure you have "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" on your soundcard first - so check your Sound settings from the control panel.

I use Microsoft Sound Mapper (Input) on my laptop to record, that might work?
