Looks like an updated DJM 800 - I'm guessing with a cut down version of their EFX unit from the DJM2000, and some people have guessed it will have a soundcard inside.

Must say i always preferred using the efx on the DJM mixer to the ones on traktor - Dunno why, but i just quite liked the whole big yellow button thing to mash, wheras i only ever use the delay on traktor.

    Officially announced.

Fuck me, how GOOD is James Zabiela - I think i've almost been convinced that i now need one of Pioneers overpriced mixers once again! He sure as fuck knows how to make best use of these pieces of hardware.

Those efx in conjunction with the CDJ2000's sound pretty damn special. Wow.

Haha ... i won't. My S4's have seen about 1 hour worth of use since i bought them - I even half wondered about flogging it last night since i wasnt doing much in the way of playing around with music at the moment, before my lass talked me down (I would have had nothing left) and i realised i was just busy with other shit at the moment.

I think what Zabiela does that most other DJ's dont, is give an actual purpose for what is absolutely fucking pricey technology. As i've argued on other threads, most DJ's are stuck in the 'one tune into the next' loop which I'll for the most part admit i am - And if that's the case i see absolutely no need for stuff like this.....

... Having said that, the technically competant DJ's out there are doing absolutely stunning stuff with these bits of kit - using the base tunes as just a 'base coat' before they REALLY make things interesting.

    Amazing stuff like.

the sheer amount of gear that is better you can get for that kinda cash is reason enough to fuck it off.

Didn't Korg bring out a mixer about 12 months ago with all of the same functions for a lot less?

Can you mix on vinyl? No .... well fuck off ;)

Yeah - Pioneer seem to be able to price things 50-100% over the competition these days and call it 'innovation'.

I do think it looks like a superb bit of kit, and paired with the cdj 2000's i bet it feels amazing to play on - but at 5 grand all in, or near enough ..... they can suck my cock.

Maybe its all going back to the old days when the average joe couldnt afford kit that would be put in clubs - Almost full circle really.
