Generator Compact- for DIY artists and music businesses Generator and Transmit Consulting have produced 3 Music Business Development units for delivery as one day, bite-sized workshops, to run throughout the North East. These short courses offer a practical solution for small music businesses, having been assembled by people with extensive experience of working within the music industry. There will be seven units in total with the first three: Strategic Music Marketing - Promoting Your Music Digital Music Distribution and Sales - Selling Music Online Finance and Funding for Music Business being delivered in Newcastle at Dance City over the 8th, 9th and 10th of December. There will be more confirmed in Sunderland and Teesside for delivery in January 2010. Workshops are FREE to attend but restricted to just 12 spaces. The response to the new units has been very positive and we have already filled the allocation for the Finance and Funding for Music Business unit on 10th December. There are still places on the remaining two units (8th and 9th) but we would recommend you register interest for these quickly. Here’s another summary of what they’re about and why they will work for your band, project or music business. Promoting Your Music This workshop will help bands, producers and labels promote their own music to the media and the industry. It will also look at DIY marketing campaigns if you want to release your own material. Most successful artists have had their own ‘records’ out before being signed and Compact will help you, to take your own music to the market. It is particularly relevant for Bands / Musicians and Producers as well as Managers and Labels.
