Reposted from facebook: Following on our policy of new up and coming DJ's and small intimate venues that saw Newcastle debuts from the likes of Robert James, Huxley and jozif we kick off the year with a definite rising star for 2011. Lauras extreme passion for music and the club scene, coupled with an unrivalled desire to succeed, has ensured Laura is fast gaining a reputation as one of the most bright-eyed, up and coming DJ’s of the moment. Having grac...ed the decks at a number of the most dynamic nights in the UK and Ibiza, Laura continues to surpass expectation, counting Below, Bump, Mulletover and JustJack as some of the stages on which she continues to impress the crowds and establish her own distinct style. Playing alongside the likes of Clive Henry and Paco Osuna in the process, Mixmag has already given Laura the recognition she deserves labelling her as ‘The New Recruit’ to the dance scene. Encompassing elements of House, Tech House, Techno and minimal into each of her sets Laura’s musical inspiration comes from her first trip to legendary club DC10 and more recent ventures to Berlin. She ranks Ricardo Villalobos and Magda as personal influences however years of being classically trained in piano, cello and clarinet and also vocally as a child have also helped to define and create an individual sound upon which she is fast building a reputation. Now with a monthly residency at Bump, Bristol, to hone her skills and develop her sound, the only way is up for Miss Jones who has set her sights on stepping into the studio to recreate her ideas electronically. Intentions, Lauras first release on Left'd was a constant fixture in Seth Troxlers DC-10 sets all last season and also gained big support from Dyed Soundorom, Gavin Herlihy, Jamie Jones, Sasha and basically anyone who heard it! With support on the night from residents Neil Scott, Kimpossible and Damien Walker. Lets blast 2011 off ....................
