DAVE MARTIN TECHNIQUE/IMMIGRANT/ARCHIPEL Dave Martin is fast becoming a name to be reckoned with within the UK and increasingly across Europe. As the resident and promoter of the mighty Technique Club in Leeds UK, Dave has an enviable platform from which to get clubbers all over Europe shaking their stuff. In 2006 Technique reaches the ripe old age of 5, no mean feat for a club what was started with no money by a bunch of students! Over this 5 year period Technique has grown to become a household name for anybody with so much as a hint of interest in the US and European house and techno scene. The club has also provided Dave with the experience and confidence to grow as a touring DJ. He's played alongside, and earned the respect of the likes of Ritchie Hawtin, Craig Richards, Magda, Luciano, John Tejada, Alex Smoke, Derrick May, Carl Craig, Steve Bug, Mathew Jonson and Michael Mayer (to name just a few) 2005 saw Dave's profile grow further still, playing at all of the UK's clubs that are championing the UK's house and techno scene. He made his Fabric debut, a real personal highlight, as well as gracing the decks of such reknowed establishments as Stealth in Nottingham and Tribal Sessions (Sankey Soaps) in Manchester. However his infectious beats were not only limited to the UK; Dave also made movements into Europe with appearances in Barcelona (during the prestigious Sonar festival) and in Oslo's hottest club, Sikamikaniko. In 2005 Dave also became part of the furniture for the awesome Immigrant Records team - Dave is now A & R manager for the label. Immigrant have worked with the likes of John Tejada, John Dahlback and Funk D'Void in the past - so watch this space for big things from the label in the coming year! Dave also became an official Archipel DJ in 2005. He's now one of the tatse makers and taste testers for Pheek's (M-nus / Archipel) label. Having played alongside Dave in early 2005 Pheek approached Dave to join the Archipel team as their official UK DJ, and they've been working together ever since. So whats next? Well Dave's schedule doesn't seem to be letting up, 2006 has already looking pretty stacked out! There's big plans afoot for Immigrant and Dave will be diving even deeper into his role there. He'll be making returns to all of his favourite haunts and adding a host of new events to his schedule - with Technique events already planned in Tokyo, Berlin, Ibiza and Budapest as well as guest appearance at anywhere else you can care to imagine! Dave will also be spending a lot more time in the studio...who knows, 2006 might see a release or two..... Make sure you do not miss Dave Martin this year! www.myspace.com/davemartinuk www.technique.org.uk
