Any1 advise upon what I should look for when purchasing these - in the past I have paid a lot for Sony type CDs and have had zero problems as expected by a top brand. However, I decided to try the pack of 7 you get from the quid shop, but have obbviously have had to chuck them as they skip like hell! I saved about a fiver last time by buying 'Verbatim' extra protection 52x, 80min, 700mb cds which looked almost similar to the Sony discs, byt they have again let me down by ocassionally skipping. Is there any more resonably priced discs out there that do the job intended. Its the cd player in my car and at home (which is a Sony player itself) I have problems with as the CDJs work fine, and will play almost anything!
Yes, I have a decent system - would it be better (or do me no harm) to burn at the lowest speed, and shut down any downloads/programs at the same time? Cheers m8y
I think burning at the max speed can cause certain parts of the track not to register properly on the disc which can cause skipping on certain players, I usually burn any disc on at least half the speed or the lowest speed. What I've mentioned could be complete bollocks superstition though.
I use Verbatim, always get the odd one or two that don't work but generally dont have a problem! Have you tried a faulty CD in another player to see if it skips in the same places?
Ive always used these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0001Z4KHI/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/280-5215504-5288222 Never had any problems, bought the verbatim ones twice and they have skipped during sets etc so went straight back to the sony ones.
Cheers for advice dudes - think the moral of the story here is to stick with Sony when it comes to CDs - its not like a tin of beans or a loaf of bread is it...mind you, you can't beat heinz or warburtons, ha
