Creamfields to move THE world famous Creamfields dance festival is leaving Liverpool. Talks have already begun to move the huge August Bank Holiday money-spinner spectacular to the Daresbury estate, open parkland around Daresbury Hall in Halton, near Runcorn. Organisers said the former Speke airport site, home to the festival for the past eight years, no longer offered long-term security. The land is part of the Estuary Commerce Park owned by Liverpool Land Development Company and Peel Holdings, which are developing factory and office units there. attracts more than 50,000 dance fans from all over the UK. On average they spend about £90 each during their stay, making the event worth about £3.5m to the local economy. Last year revellers packed into the riverside site for the 15-hour dance marathon which attracted top DJs such as Paul van Dyk, Pete Tong and Paul Oakenfold, who made his name at Cream's Liverpool club, as well as leading bands such as the Basement Jaxx, Faithless and Caged Baby. A spokesman for the organisers said today: "Creamfields is moving from Speke because the site no longer offers long-term security. "We are grateful to the local community, the local MP, police, the council and the Culture Company who have all been positive. But it is time to move on.
Re: Creamfields to move What do they expect, it's in Liverpool. After Creamfields '02 we sat in the car waiting for our designated driver to sort his head out before we set off and a family came out searching the car park area for dropped belongings, money etc.. There was a father and about 6 young lads aged between 8 and 15yrs old. They spotted a Vauxhall Cavalier sat near the far end of the car park so went up to it, put a brick through the small window to the rear of the car and fed the 8yr old though it who then opened the car so everyone could get in to steal whatever they could find (All while the car alarm was sounding) - A copper even drove past on his motor bike and did fuck all We drove up to them, took a photo, told them we were taking it to the police and drove off
