About Birmingham Children’s Hospital Birmingham Children’s Hospital - sees over 200,000 children every year (that’s over 500 a day) and has over 200 staying on wards at any one time. It’s a world-class centre for liver transplants and heart surgery, taking children from all over the world. But most of its patients are from or around the Midlands, needing specialised treatment for anything from burns to diet problems. It’s been part of the city’s heart for over 100 years, and has always relied on the generosity of the public to help it in what it does best: give seriously sick children the best possible chance for their future.
