Film : The Thin Red Line Just watched this again last night after being reminded of it in the "100 greatest war films of all time" What a class, heart wrenching film... total shocker as well - you're not ready for the bit with Jim Cavizel (sp?) towards the end. it's the 'platoon' of US involvement in the Pacific WWII films.... love it. Although i do really like 'Tora Tora Tora' - quite forward thinking, having a bit of a dig at the american way of thinking, even back then, showing the japanese getting ready to attack and flying over and the yanks just sitting around thinking they're untouchable... just thought i'd share that.
its awesome, did them b2b last week... easy company some of my other favs: mission of the shark kelly's heroes dirty dozen saving private ryan bridge on the river kwai escape to victory dam busters + loads more i cant remember ww2 makes ya look at the wrinklies with a bit more respect
You cant beat A Bridge Too Far for some cracking Nazi heroics.... I love the bit where all the Poles get machine gunned as they parachute into the German lines. "Its Liek Ze Duck Shoot"
There where some good war films mentioned i hadnt even heard of. Can someone drag up the complete list plz
'tora tora tora' cocky yanks, sitting around, being cocky. cut japs fueling up. cut back to yanks being more cocky. cut to japs flying to pearl harbour. the PROPER pearl harbour film...
