As The Poeticast consummates #68, we remain in the UK this week as Manchester's Phil Denton drops by to lay some pounding Techno on our speakers with another astounding Guest Mix.
Mancunian through and through, Phil Denton came across techno as a welcome knock on effect of one flirtatious moment with trance in his teens. Keen to build on this new interest, Phil continued to explore electronic music, eventually seeing him become one of the founders and resident DJs of Dirty Analogue, a night that has provided a stage for many now household names to make their UK/Manchester debuts. Skipping forward a year or two Phil joined the fray at Manchester's no-nonsense techno affair Colour, playing alongside the likes of Ben Sims, DJ Rush, Robert Hood, and Surgeon to name just a few, and can now be found playing for Process Manchester supporting the likes of Dave Clarke and Jeroen Search.
Alongside his expanding DJ presence, Phil's obsession for rolling beats has lead to significant output in the studio. Having turned his hand to production a few years back, Phil is forging a tidy reputation as an artist, with a steady discography already behind him including EP's and remixes for F.O.S, Audio Borderline and Tono Limited. With his rate of output increasing steadily, Phil is also focusing on the deeper side of techno in the studio, and takes both deep and dubby vibes into his DJ sets whilst his UK roots remain prominent, often utilising three or more decks.
